Descubrámonos ante un canto a la vida, una carcajada ante la muerte y una filosofía que todos deberíamos tener…eso es esta canción. Como sabéis, la canción se dio a conocer en la vida de Brian, en la ultima escena, cuando Brian ha sido condenado a crucifixión.
Después de una disparatada serie de oportunidades para ser rescatado, finalmente está claro que va a palmar en la cruz, en ese momento, un personaje de una cruz cercana (Eric Idle) intenta animarle cantando esta canción. Según avanza la canción, los demás crucificados (140 en total según el guión, aunque se ven muchos menos en pantalla) empiezan a bailar muy limitadamente, sólo con pies y cabeza pues están crucificados, y a sumarse al silbido del estribillo.
Se dice que cuando rodaban esa escena, el reparto de actores estaba aburrido y acalorado en sus cruces, entonces Eirc Idle empezó a cantar esta cancioncilla.
